Hello! This is a space where I share a variety of my notes. It can be pretty random, but mostly focused on tech/ai. The name was inspired from the Latent Feature Space concept.
I’ll mainly post projects I’m working on, research I’m doing, useful notes I have, interesting information and insights that I find, and philosophy/sociology/psychology as it relates to technology and AI. I refrain from posting AI generated content here, unless it’s part of a guide (code).
I haven’t nailed down the structure and how everything will be organized, don’t have a plan at the moment. Hoping things will crystalize as I keep maintaining this so it’s useful to the public. If you have any suggestions let me know.
I’m also intrigued by how AGI/ASI (Machine Learning in General, I know AI has become a buzzword) will affect society and humanity, now and in the future, on a macro and micro scale.
I want to think about/discuss the macro/societal implications of a technology that can generate statistically optimal solutions to a wide array of humanities biggest and smallest problems. If we do not design and evolve these technologies with intention, the disruption they bring could be catastrophic. Economic, Political, Infrastructural, etc. How will free-market capitalism be affected when we are all equipped with our own means of intellectual/creative production (through generative AI). The shift has already begun in certain domains like call centers, software development, help desk roles, etc. where business owners are employing AI agents to replace existing labor.
I also find the micro/individualistic implications profound. How will LLMs and other ML technologies (Diffusion Models, CNNs, etc) affect and shape not only our collective conscious, but how will it affect each of us individually? Will people come to love their AI companions, fear their AI overlords, or feel indifferent to their AI servants? What does it mean for someone to find meaning in a statistical model? When we interface with life, we are surrounded with probabilistic choices that are constantly collapsing, and assigning meaning to them. Is this any different?
And of course, dialogue around consciousness, sentience, self-awareness, and self-perception in relation to AI technology is always fascinating. Is AI already sentient? What really is sentience? What are the implications?
Thanks for stopping by :)
